- 1). Click on "Start" or the Windows orb logo on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop to show the Start menu. Click on "All Programs" to show the list. Click on the "Accessories" folder, "System Tools" folder, and then click the "System Restore" icon to open the utility.
- 2). Click the radio button next to "Restore my computer to an earlier time," then click the "Next" button to advance the page in the System Restore window.
- 3). Click on the date on the calendar that you wish to change to. System Restore will populate the latest restore point, but you can click on a different date/time point. If the right pane shows more than one point, decide and click on one point to highlight it.
- 4). Click the "Next" button to advance to the page that reads: "Selected restore point." Verify that the restore point you changed to is showing.
- 5). Click the "Next" button to advance the page in the window. System Restore will automate the process the rest of the way. Be prepared for your system to restart, and look for a startup message window stating: "Your computer has been successfully restored to."
