- 1). Open the Live ID page on your computer browser.
- 2). Click on "Forgot your password?"
- 3). Enter your Live ID in the first text box. Your ID will be an email address, such as JohnDoe@aol.com.
- 4). Tab down to the next text box. This is a security application to prevent automated programs from accessing accounts. Enter the text you see in the picture. If it is unclear, click the arrow icon to replace it.
- 5). Press the "Continue" button.
- 6). Follow the instructions on the "Reset your password" page. This will include a security question or another method to confirm your identity.
- 7). Type in and verify the new password. Click "Continue." When you see the message "You've changed your password," the process is complete.
