- 1). Remove the grill plate from your bathroom exhaust fan to expose it and the surrounding area.
- 2). Use professional grade duct tape to seal any joints in metal piping that lead to the attic. This can be a source of cold air. The duct tape you use cannot be the common type. You must purchase it from a location that sells ductwork, air conditioners and furnaces.
- 3). Replace the internal flapper damper on the bathroom exhaust fan with a roof cap. This will seal it off more effectively when not in use to prevent cold air from getting into your bathroom.
- 4). Spray any metal pipes you see with foam insulation. This will insulated the pipes, preventing them from getting so cold that they leak cold air into your bathroom.
