- To customize the startup screen, identify the "winload.exe.mui" in the Windows system directory. Use a program such as Vista Boot Logo Generator to load and install a custom graphics file as the startup screen in Vista.
- Microsoft Vista has a hidden screen that can be enabled to appear when the Windows Vista operating system is loading. Enable the hidden BootScreen by running the "msconfig" application. Once in "msconfig," check the box marked "No GUI boot" and hit "OK." The hidden BootScreen will now be visible when starting Windows Vista.
- The Logon screen is used to access different user accounts installed in Vista. Download and uninstall the application Stardock's Logon Studio. Use the Logon Studio to load the ".logonvista" file located in the Windows directory and change the Vista Logon screen.
