- 1). Log in to XP under the Administrator account. (You will need to know the username and password for the account.)
- 2). Double-click the Oracle 10G launch wizard to begin the installation process. Click "Next" when the Installation Wizard window appears.
- 3). Click the option to accept the license agreement, and click "Next."
- 4). Select the destination directory for the Express Edition files. The Installation Wizard automatically selects one by default, but you can choose on yourself by clicking the "Browse" button. Click "Next."
- 5). Type in the password for the default database accounts when prompted. Use either "sys" or "system" as a username (both words work), make up a password you will remember. Click "Next."
- 6). Click the "Install" button, and wait for the program to install.
- 7). Click the box next to "Launch the Database homepage" when prompted, then click "Finish."
- 8). When the browser window appears, enter the username and password you chose earlier and click the "Login" button to launch Oracle 10G.
