- 1). Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." In the "Control Panel" dialog box, click "View by" and select "Small Icons."
- 2). Click "Administrative Tools" to open the "Administrative Tools" dialog box. Double-click "Services" to open the "Services" dialog box.
- 3). Scroll down to "WLAN AutoConfig." Double-click "WLAN AutoConfig" to open the "WLAN AutoConfig Properties" dialog box.
- 4). Click the "General" tab. Click the arrow next to "Startup type." Select either "Manual," to search for wireless networks manually, or "Disabled," to disable the search completely.
- 5). Click "OK" to save the settings.
