This is Jocelyne with Arizona Art Supply. And today I'm going to show you how to insert canvas keys into a painting canvas. But before doing so I highly recommend trying to stretch your canvas in another fashion. The best way to do so is with some warm soapy water or there are specific products for it available in your fine are supply store. What you want to do is spray the back of your canvas especially where it's wrinkling or it looks loose. Be to sure to saturate it just right, not too much. Let that dry and if that doesn't work then go ahead and use your canvas keys. What happens when you use your canvas keys is you can stretch the canvas too much ruining your painting. These are keys for your studio style canvas. Thicker keys are available for your gallery wrap. So you insert them right into the corners like so, and into this corner. And with a hammer you can hit them lightly so they go all the way in. The further in they go, they separate those wooden structure bars thus stretching your canvas.
