- 1). Purchase a strip of leather no longer than your choker that is either nubuck or suede. Opt for an unpainted, unpressed, unpolished, low nap leather that feels soft and cool against your skin; the more natural the leather, the less irritating it will be during wear.
- 2). Lay the choker on the leather strap and cut to size; for thin chokers such as a single strand bead choker, consider applying a clear latex coating instead.
- 3). Use a small blanket stitch to secure the leather to the choker. Insert the threaded needle down, through the edge of the choker and the leather. Pull the needle out of the bottom and repeat; the resulting stitch will form a row of spaced-out, parallel lines.
