- 1). Place each of the cans in the center of a square of mylar paper. Gather the corners of the mylar paper together on top of the can, and secure them with a rubber band. Cover the rubber band with a ribbon to hide it.
- 2). Tie one end of the monofilament line to the ribbon on top of one of the cans. This will hold the line in place while you are adding balloons.
- 3). Use a helium pump to inflate your balloons, making sure they are as close in size as possible.
- 4). Tie a pair of balloons together in a basic knot. Repeat this process with a second pair of balloons. Cross the two pairs of balloons and then twist them so that all four are securely attached together in the shape of an "X."
- 5). Double knot the monofilament line around the center of the four balloons, keeping the balloons as close to the base as possible.
- 6). Repeat steps 4 and 5 with four more balloons, securing them within a foot from the previous set of balloons on the monofilament line. Continue this process until you have filled the line with balloons.
- 7). Secure the other end of the balloon arch to the ribbon on top of the second can.
