Mobile Charger DC-4 Vs. DC-6

    DC-4 Specifications

    • The Nokia DC-4 is a high-performance mobile phone charger that allows users to connect compatible mobile devices to a car lighter. It features a coiled "telephone"-style cable and a 2mm plug. A green light on the back of the unit activates when the charger is plugged into a car cigarette lighter, to indicate that the device is working and ready for charging. It is small, lightweight and compatible with 12-volt and 24-volt DC devices.

    DC-4 Compatibility

    • The DC-4 is compatible with a larger number of Nokia devices than the DC-6, but will not connect to current-generation smart phones, which feature micro USB inputs for data transfer and charging. Because micro USB inputs now perform charging tasks, 2mm inputs are no longer included on new mobile phones. The DC-4 is compatible with several Nokia mobile devices released before 2010, including the N800 line of Internet tablets, and most recently the Nokia E72, released in January 2010.

    DC-6 Specifications

    • The Nokia DC-6 is a high-performance mobile phone charger that allows users to connect compatible mobile devices to a car lighter. It features a coiled "telephone"-style cable and a micro USB plug. Like with the DC-4, a green light on the back of the unit activates when the charger is plugged into a car cigarette lighter, to indicate that the device is working and ready for charging. It is small, lightweight and compatible with Nokia cell phone models released since 2010.

    DC-6 Compatibility

    • Although the DC-4 is compatible with more Nokia devices than the DC-6, all current-generation Nokia cell phones feature micro USB jacks for charging and data transfer, which are not compatible with the DC-4 charger's 2mm plug. The DC-6 is compatible with these micro USB devices, such as the Nokia N900 and N97 touch-screen smart phones. In addition, the DC-6 is compatible with less expensive flip-style phones such as the Nokia 3710, 3711 and 6350.
