How to Use an LG Alltel Phone With a Ford Sync

    • 1). Power on the Alltel mobile phone, your Ford vehicle and the car stereo. The vehicle must be running, not in accessory mode but it can't be in motion.

    • 2). Enable Bluetooth on your LG Alltel mobile phone. The steps for completing this task differ slightly per phone model. Generally, you can access Bluetooth options from the Settings menu on the home screen. Select the option to turn the Bluetooth on. Follow any prompts to place the device in pairing mode. The SYNC device will appear in the LG menu. The device should then prompt you for a passkey. You will receive this in step 6.

    • 3). Press the "Phone" button on the Ford stereo. The Bluetooth may already be on: "Bluetooth or BT On" will be displayed. If so, skip to step 6. If not, proceed with steps 4 and 5.

    • 4). Press "OK" when you see "Bluetooth On/Off" or "Bluetooth Off" appear on the screen. The next option, "Bluetooth or BT On," will be displayed.

    • 5). Select "OK" when you see "Bluetooth On?/BT On" display on the screen. Ford SYNC will search for Bluetooth devices that have been already paired. To pair a new device, press the arrow buttons until you see "Add Bluetooth Device/Connect BT."

    • 6). Select "OK" when the SYNC voice says, "Press OK to begin pairing device." The SYNC voice will then say, "Search for SYNC on your device and enter the PIN provided by SYNC." SYNC will display the PIN.

    • 7). Enter your PIN into the Alltel LG phone. This must be done within three minutes. If not, you will have to start the pairing process all over. If pairing is successful, "Device Connected" will display on the SYNC screen.

    • 8). Press "OK" to use the Alltel mobile phone as your primary phone. To select "No" use the down arrow to highlight "No." Then press "OK."

    • 9). Select yes or no to download the Alltel mobile phone book when prompted. If yes, SYNC will download all of the stored contacts.

    • 10

Press the arrow buttons until "Exit Phone Menu" displays on the SYNC screen. Press "OK."

    • 11

Go back to your LG mobile phone. The phone should prompt you to accept the pairing. Select "Yes" and "OK." The SYNC will now be listed in your paired device menu.
