- 1). Turn off the BlackBerry 8800. Remove the charger cable if you have it plugged in. Press the battery door release and slide it away from the rest of the phone. Remove the BlackBerry battery.
- 2). Use the small torque screwdriver to remove the four visible torque screws from the back of the BlackBerry 8800. Pry off the side pieces, starting at the bottom and working your way to the top.
- 3). Pull the upper rear piece away from the BlackBerry 8800. Then remove the two torque screws in the top corners that you just exposed. Pull the front faceplate off the body of the phone.
- 4). Gently pull the LCD ribbon from its connector at the top of the screen. Lift the LCD screen away from the body of the phone, remembering that it is held in place with double sided tape. Use firm force to pull apart the double-sided tape.
