- 1). Download or purchase a book or an eBook that contains patterns and instructions for beaded doll furniture. Read all introductions and training pages, such as how to work with findings and finishing techniques for wire if you are unfamiliar with such concepts.
- 2). Select a diagram or pattern you would like to use. Patterns usually include miniature couches, chairs, dressers, lampshades, planters and even complete living room and bedroom sets. A couch is simplest, and usually the first project worth tackling.
- 3). Select a round bead in whatever color you would like. Number 10 beads work well, but you can use larger or smaller beads to make your couch bigger or smaller. Thread four round beads using a typical chain. To make a chain, start with half a yard of thread on a needle. Add two beads and pull them down to about 4 inches from the bottom of the thread. Tie a knot at the top bead. Pull the thread through one of the beads and add another bead to the thread. Keep snaking the thread through with additional beads, pulling them downward to keep them tight in a row. Repeat by expanding the chain, using four beads, four times across.
- 4). Bead into a square, using five rows of these four-bead clusters. Tie off and make a second square in the same manner as the first. When these are completed, they will serve as couch cushions. Sew the two "cushions" together by connecting the side beads with wire. This should be secured together to make one cushion, as if it has been folded over and sewn shut.
- 5). Repeat the process using longer rows to create the arms and back of the couch. Again, expand the bead rows and then either stitch these to the edge of the cushion, or use a strong glue to form a couch shape. Glue or stitch small clusters of beads (two to four beads) to the bottom of the couch creation. Add one cluster to each of the four corners. These are your couch legs.
