- 1). Lay the steel stud out on the floor where the wall will be constructed. Cut the piece to length, so that it's ready to receive the wall studs. Steel studs can be cut with duck bill metal snips, or a builders saw with a steel cutting blade.
- 2). Place a mark on the stud every 16 inches, starting approximately 3 inches from one end. The stud should be nailed to the floor every 16 inches.
- 3). Insert a nailing pin w/ washer into the front of the hammer. The nail will stay in the nose of the tool due to the rubber finned grommet around the pin.
- 4). Slide the nose of the tool away from the larger rubber handle on the back of the tool to open the tool's firing chamber. Insert a .22 caliber shell into the powder-actuated hammer's firing chamber and gently close the tool.
- 5). Press the hammer downward against the metal stud on the first marked location. Strike the powder actuated tool firing pin with the hammer while pressing the nose of the tool firmly against the ground. The firing pin will strike and ignite the .22 shell, and the resulting explosion in the firing chamber propels the nailing pin into the concrete floor.
