- 1). To print a document, go to "file" in your menu and select print or press Ctr+P. A pop-up screen will come up. Select what pages you want to print and how many copies you need. Click on the "print" button in the pop-up screen. On the right-hand side of the screen, another pop-up screen will appear. On this screen you will be able to see the progress of your printing job and will be able to see how much ink you have left.
- 2). Your printer will warn you when you are about to run out of printer ink with a pop-up screen.
- 3). To change the ink, open the lid of the printer. There will be two cartridge holders that look like boxes with black and green (or blue) tops. The cartridge with the black top holds the black ink. The cartridge with the green (or blue) is for colored ink. Pull up on the tab on the side of the box and flip it back towards you. Pull out the used cartridge. Remove the plastic from the new cartridge and slip it in where the old cartridge was. Push down until you hear a 'pop'. Close the cartridge lid and close the printer lid.
- 4). After you have installed a new cartridge, your computer will probably get a pop-up screen asking if you changed a cartridge. Select "Yes." It will then print an alignment page. Follow the pop-up screen's directions to align your cartridges.
