- 1). Navigate to and right-click on the folder or shortcut for which you wish to reset the icon type, and then select "Properties" from the context menu.
- 2). For folders, click the "Customize" tab and select "Change Icon." For shortcuts, click the "Shortcut" tab and select "Change Icon."
- 3). Click on the "Restore Defaults" button and click "Apply." Select "OK." Your icon will now be restored back to its default type.
