- 1). Unplug the printer's electrical cord. Unscrew the two screws in the front of the machine (under the front cover) and in the back of the machine.
- 2). Lift the case off the printer's chassis and set it aside. Remove the print cartridges from the cartridge carriage and set them aside.
- 3). Carefully remove the gray plastic tabs from the cartridge carriage. Remove the I/C ejectors from the carriage assembly by sliding them up and out the nearby slot.
- 4). Remove the screws on the metal tabs at either side of the carriage. Detach the cable from the print head by first removing the cable from its retaining clips and then gently unplugging the connector from the print head itself.
- 5). Pull back the black plastic clip covering the print head, then remove the print head itself from the carriage. Install the new print head and other pieces in reverse order.
