- 1). Detach the power cord of the laptop computer before attempting to disassemble the keyboard.
- 2). Slide a small flat head screwdriver carefully under the lip of the cover at the top of the keyboard. Lift it up to detach the cover from the laptop base.
- 3). Locate the screws on the top edge of the keyboard and unfasten them with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- 4). Lift the keyboard up with your hands and move it forward to locate the flat data cable at the bottom of the keyboard.
- 5). Unplug the data cable from the motherboard, carefully lifting it up and removing the keyboard from the laptop.
