- 1). Cut the batting into a long strip and twist it around the hanger. Stitch the batting together at each end of the hanger to secure it.
- 2). Use the soft tape measure to determine your hanger's circumference with the batting attached. Divide the circumference in half and add one inch. This is the first measurement for the pattern.
- 3). Measure the length of the hanger, from the center to the end. Add an inch. This is the second measurement for the pattern.
- 4). Draw a rectangle on a piece of paper. Its width should match your first measurement and its length should match your second measurement. Round the corners of one short end of the rectangle.
- 5). Use the pattern to cut out four pieces of fabric.
- 6). Align two fabric pieces, right sides facing together. Leaving a 1/2-inch seam, stitch together the rounded end and both sides, leaving the short, straight end open. Trim the seam and turn the fabric right side out. Repeat with the two other pieces of fabric.
- 7). Slide the fabric tubes onto the hanger, one on each side. At the center, fold under the raw edges and stitch the tubes together.
- 8). Tie a ribbon around the hanger's hook.
- 9). If you wish, stitch beads on the hanger in a decorative pattern.
