New Split-Screen Multiplayer Modes in 3D

It's such a revolutionary experience to watch TV in 3D with all the latest 3D TV packages. But, wouldn't it be just as cool to play video games in 3D? Now you can. And the cool features don't stop there. With some of the newer TVs, you and your opponent can stare at the same television, but only see your portion of the video game. That way, there's no cheating and no spying on what your opponent is doing. While you're wearing the special 3D glasses, you see your half of the TV in full size for the ultimate 3D gaming experience.

This new revolution in 3D video games is referred to as split-screen multiplayer games. These types of games typically allow up to four players to play at the same location on a single screen while wearing three dimensional glasses. The screen is divided into rectangular sections equal to the number of players present making 3D gaming consistent and universally effective.

Due to the nature of this original design of gaming, players, as they wished, could simply watch an opponent's screen to gain an unfair advantage. Although this tactic is difficult to prevent, wearing the new 3D glasses and playing on a split-screen will block out your opponent's portion of the television and make the screen entirely your own. Not only is this visually striking, but makes for more fair play.

Ordinarily, each of your eyes is fed content filmed from a slightly different angle to emulate depth perception. What do the 3D glasses do ordinarily? They filter the content so that your left eye sees one image and your right eye sees another.

What split-screen multiplayer mode in 3D does is, instead of polarizing the glasses for two different eyes, they are polarized for two different players. In this way, player one's glasses are polarized and see one image, while player two sees another. In return, both players get to play from the entire width of the screen.

Some of the top split-screen multiplayer 3D games are Halo 3, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, and Project Gotham Racing.

If you want to experience something new and radical, try the new split-screen 3D gaming systems. You can play on your new 3D TV package. Although the glasses can get quite expensive, it's definitely worth it. 3D is still well positioned to become the new state of the art for video games.
