- 1). Make 18 chain stitches using worsted weight yarn and a size U.S. H crochet hook. Join the last stitch to the first with a slip stitch to form a circle with the chain stitches.
- 2). Make one chain; then make a single crochet in every stitch around the circle. Close the circle by joining with a slip stitch.
- 3). Repeat Step 2 until the dress is long enough to cover Barbie's body from just above her bust to her knees or ankles, depending on the length you desire.
- 4). Cut the working yarn with scissors, leaving a 4-inch tail. Pull this tail through the loop on the hook to fasten off.
- 5). Make 10 chain stitches using your worsted weight yarn and size H crochet hook. Cut the working yarn and fasten off.
- 6). Sew one end of the 10-chain strap to the front of Barbie's dress, just left of center. Sew the other end just right of center. The dress can be worn as a halter this way.
- 7). Thread any dangling yarn tails onto an embroidery needle, one at a time, and weave them in and out of the stitches on the inside of the dress to hide them.
