Kohler Engine Torque Specs

Command Series


The Command Series includes models CV11; CV12.5; CV13; CV14; CV15; CV16 and CV460 through CV493. The maximum torque ratings are 20.2 foot-pounds at 2,500 rpm (CV11); 20.5 foot-pounds at 2,500 rpm (CV12.5 and CV13); 21.3 foot-pounds at 2,500 rpm (CV14); 24.5 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm (CV15); 25 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm (CV16); 26.8 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm (CV460) and 27.7 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm (CV490-493).

Command Pro CS Series


The CS4; CS6; CS8.5; CS10; CS12 and CS12.75 models belong to the Command Pro CS Series. The models in this series have a horizontal crankshaft and range from 4 to 12.75 horsepower, which corresponds with the model number. The maximum torque ratings for the CS Series are 6.2 foot-pounds at 2,200 rpm (CS4); 9.6 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm (CS6); 14.2 foot-pounds at 2,200 rpm (CS8.5); 15.9 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm (CS10); 20.1 foot-pounds at 2,200 rpm (CS12) and 22.6 foot-pounds at 2,400 rpm.

Command PRO Series


Not to be confused with the Command PRO CS series, this series' models are also horizontal crankshaft engines and include the CH270, CH 395 and CH440. They range from 7 to 14 horsepower (gross). The peak torque specifications for these models are 9.1 foot-pounds at 2,800 rpm (CH270); 13.1 foot-pounds at 2,600 rpm (CH395) and 18.5 foot-pounds at 2,600 rpm (CH440). The peak torque for the CH440 is based on preliminary information, according to Kohler.

Courage Series


Kohler's Courage SH265 is a horizontal crankshaft engine, differing from the other Courage models, which are vertical crankshaft engines. The net peak torque for the SH265 is 8.5 foot-pounds at 2,800 rpm.

The XT and XTR models in Kohler's Courage Series have net peak torque of 5.9 foot-pounds (XT-6) and 7 foot-pounds (XT-7 and XTR-7) at 2,600 rpm.
