- 1). Place the HP installation disc into your computer's optical drive, or double-click the HP Officejet 6500 driver file once the download is complete.
- 2). Click "Extract" if using the downloaded version of the drivers.
- 3). Click "Install USB-Connected" device.
- 4). Click "Next." Check the box next to the end user license agreement statement. Click "Next." Select "Continue Anyway" if Windows prompts you with a driver signing issue.
- 5). Connect the printer to your computer with the USB cable once the software is installed, and the installer tells you to do so. The HP software package finishes up the installation and you will have access to your printer. Click "Finish."
