- 1). Click the "Start" button on the Windows 7 desktop taskbar and click the "Search" box. Type "ncpa.cpl" in the "Search" box and tap the "Enter" key. The "Network Connections" window appears.
- 2). Right-click on the network connection that connects to the Internet, and click "Properties" in the menu that appears. Click the "Sharing" tab in the window that appears.
- 3). Click to enable the "Allow Other Network Users to Connect Through This Computer's Internet Connection" and click the "OK" button.
- 4). Click the "Start" button on the Windows 7 taskbar, type "wireless" in the "Search" box and press the "Enter" key. Click the "Add" button.
- 5). Click the "Create an Ad Hoc Network" item and click the "Next" button. Type a name for the ad hoc wireless network in the "Network Name" field. Click the "Security Type" box and click "WPA-2 Personal." Type a password for the ad hoc wireless network in the "Security Key/Passphrase" text box. Tick the "Save This Network" check box. Click the "Next" button and click the "Close" button.
- 6). Navigate to "My Xbox" on the Xbox console menu and then go to "System Settings." Go to "Network Settings." If prompted, move the cursor to the name of the Windows 7 ad hoc wireless network, otherwise proceed with the next step. If the name of the ad hoc wireless network is not in the list, go to "Advanced Options" and then "Specify Unlisted Network." Enter the name of the Windows 7 ad hoc wireless network. Highlight and select the "WPA2" option. Enter the ad hoc wireless network password and select the "Done" item.
- 7). Go to "Configure Network" and go to the "Basic Settings" tab, then select "Wireless Mode." Select "Scan for Networks."
- 8). Select the name of the Windows 7 ad hoc wireless network from the list displayed. If the ad hoc wireless network name is not displayed, go to "Specify Unlisted Network" and then enter the name of the ad hoc wireless network and select the "WPA2" wireless security option.
- 9). Enter the ad hoc wireless network password and select "Done." Press the "B" button on the Xbox controller and then go to "Test Xbox LIVE Connection" on the console display.
