- 1). Locate the "Operating Handle" for your Sundown awning. The operating handle will be located on the left or right side of your awning, closest to the awning's gearbox.
- 2). Turn the "Operating Handle" clockwise to extend your Sundown awning. You do not need to extend the awning completely if you do not want to cover the entire patio; you can open it as far as you would like.
- 3). Turn the "Operating Handle" counterclockwise to retract your Sundown awning.
