- 1). Log in to an administrator account in Windows XP and click the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- 2). Insert the 3.5-inch diskette into the floppy drive.
- 3). Click on "My Computer" to open Windows Explorer.
- 4). Right-click on the "A" drive in Windows Explorer and select "Format" from the context menu.
- 5). Check the box "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" and click "Start."
