- 1). Connect the TV to the surround sound receiver by either RCA audio cables, HDMI or digital audio cable. Plug the cable(s) into the designated audio out ports on the back of the TV (HDMI to HDMI, RCA to the red and white RCA ports and digital audio to the digital audio out port).
- 2). Insert the other end of the cable into the same audio port on the back of the sound receiver. Take note of the port number (if labeled). This allows you to adjust your receiver to your TV.
- 3). Look through the speakers you received with the receiver. There are two rear speakers, two front side speakers, a middle speaker and a subwoofer. The speakers should be labeled. If not, the taller speakers are for the front left and right, the longest speaker is made for the center (above the TV) and the smaller speakers are for the back. The subwoofer is placed near the receiver.
- 4). Run the connection cables from the rear of the speakers back to the surround sound receiver. On the receiver every speaker is identified as back right, back left, center, center right or center left. Insert the cables running form the speakers into the audio ports. Make sure you have the speakers connected into the correct audio ports, otherwise you can have issues such as audio coming out of the back left speaker but made for the front right speaker.
- 5). Power on the surround sound receiver and the TV, then set the receiver to the port the television is connected to. You can now hear the audio through the surround sound system from your TV.
