- 1). Use the Ethernet cable to connect your computer to any of the "LAN" ports on the back of the Linksys device. Make sure the device is turned on.
- 2). Read the manual for your Linksys device to find out the correct URL where the configuration utility is listening for incoming connections. The URL depends on the model. For example, for a Linksys WRT54GS router, the URL is "192.168.1.1", as indicated in the section "How to access the Web-based utility" of the user guide.
- 3). Launch a Web browser on the computer, then navigate to the URL obtained in the previous step. Enter your username and the corresponding password to log in to the Linksys device and access all of the device's configuration settings.
