- 1). Slide a piece of cardboard into the tote bag to prevent the paint from soaking through. Slide the sandpaper inside as well; the rough portion should be facing up, against the inside of th bag. This prevents the tote from sliding around while you are painting.
- 2). Pour the paint onto the disposable pie pan. Use a different pie pan for each color so they don't run together.
- 3). Place your hand into the paint, trying to cover as much of the hand as possible. Use a paintbrush to cover any portion of the palm that doesn't get covered.
- 4). Carefully press your hand onto the tote bag; use your other hand to more fully press your fingers and palm into the fabric.
- 5). Lift your hand slowly and evenly from the tote bag. Be careful not to touch other portions of the bag with your painted hand. Repaint your hand before making another hand print.
