Lenovo's IdeaPad U330, featuring an unusual dual-graphics capability, came to the notebook computer market in 2008. Reviewers noted its slim profile, light weight and ample package of features. Equipped with a fast processor and Microsoft Vista Home Premium, the U330 fared well in performance tests. Priced around $1,200 at its release, this laptop was difficult to find at retailers as of late 2010. - The U330 features a speedy 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 processor, supported by 2 GB of DDR3 memory, or RAM, which is upgradeable to 4 GB. The computer also includes a 250 GB hard drive.
- The 13.3-inch display on the U330 provides 1,280 by 800 resolution, and makes watching movies on DVD a pleasure, according to review website Computer Shopper. The U330 includes two graphics processors: an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 with 256 MB of memory, which is robust for a laptop; and an integrated Intel GMA 4500M HD chipset. Users can quickly switch between the two options, selecting the ATI unit for higher-performance needs such as gaming, and the Intel graphics to reduce battery drain.
- The laptop's two stereo speakers offer average performance when compared to similar notebook computers, according to the website Notebook Review. The U330 provides only two USB 2.0 ports, which is fewer than many competitors, but does include an HDMI-out port along with VGA and FireWire connections. Offered in black or blue, the laptop measures 1.1 by 12.5 by 9.3 inches and weighs 4.4 lbs.
- U330 users can enjoy multiple wireless connection options as it supports 802.11 a/b/g/n. The laptop also includes a DVD-RW drive and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.
