Is your ex giving you any hint that they want to get back together with you ?

• Does your ex make any effort to reach out to you through common friends or in person ?
• Do they try to strike a conversation with you on their own ?
• When you happen to see each other in a group, do they try to hang around longer and try to catch your attention ?
• Are they putting in the effort to improve themselves in any way ? For instance, has your ex gotten a better job or made themselves more attractive to you in any way ?
• When your ex talks with you, do they mention how things could have been better with you in their life ? In other words, do they ever paint a beautiful picture of the future with the two of you together with each other ?

If they have been doing some or all of these things and your gut instinct says that they are trying to have you back in their lives, then it might be so.
And if you really want to get back with your ex, then the best thing to do might be to have a talk with them and say so.
