- 1). Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the MSN/Windows Live "Reset your password" page.
- 2). Click "I forgot my password," then click the "Reset Password" link that appears directly beneath.
- 3). Enter your MSN/Windows Live ID and the onscreen security phrase. Click "Next."
- 4). Select "Email me a Security Link" or "Security Question." If you select the email option, Microsoft will email you a link that allows you to reset your password. This email is sent to an alternative email address, configured during your initial account setup. If you did not set up an alternative email address, select the Security Question option. You will be asked to answer a question configured during the initial account setup. These are security measures to prove your identity.
- 5). Enter the new password, then again for confirmation, and click "Reset Password" to reset the stored password and gain access to your account.
