- 1). Find a recycling location near you. Begin with the EPA's list of suggestions for electronics recycling (see Resources). Many of them accept printer and copy machine cartridges. Staples and Best Buy accept all printer-related recycling, and Dell has a comprehensive recycling program in select cities.
- 2). Call the recycling location you've found, and ask if it has any requirements. You may need to package the cartridge in some way. Typically, you can just put it in a plastic bag or small box.
- 3). Take the Gerber foil cartridge to the store or recycling center and drop it off. Some places, like Staples, offer a small store credit rebate, so ask if they have any recycling incentives.
