    • 1). Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties."

    • 2). Select the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button.

    • 3). Click the "+" sign next to the hardware category for updating the driver. Right-click on the device whose driver you're replacing; select "Properties."

    • 4). Select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver."

    • 5). Click "Next."

    • 6). Click the button labeled "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" -- then click "Next." If you wish to obtain a newer driver automatically, select "Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)" and click "Next." With this option, you can skip the next step.

    • 7). Select the driver you wish to install from the list and click "Next." If you have a specific driver saved, click the "Have Disk" button. Click "Browse" and select the driver. Now click "Open," then "OK" and "Next."

    • 8). Click "Next" to install the new driver. Once the process is complete, click "Finish." You may be asked to reboot your computer, depending on the device.
