- 1). Clean the area around the scrape, using extra care to remove any grease or grime that is in the dent itself.
- 2). Wet a washcloth until it is almost dripping and place it over the scraped area of the floor.
- 3). Set the steam iron on "Cotton" and place it over the washcloth-draped scrape. Leave a gap of one half inch between the iron and the washcloth. Hold in place for 2 minutes.
- 4). Examine the scrape. If it has not fully expanded to its original surface, repeat the process.
- 5). Clean the restored area once more and apply your favorite wax or finishing product as usual.
