- 1). Switch on the scanner and your computer, and ensure that the Scanjet is plugged into your computer.
- 2). Lift the Scanjet's lid and place the document you wish to scan face-down onto the glass. Use the reference marks next to the glass to align your document correctly.
- 3). Close the lid, then press the "Scan" button. This will bring up a new dialog box on your computer screen.
- 4). Select either "Picture" or "Document," depending on which format you wish your document to be saved as. If your document contains text that you may wish to edit at a later date, select "Document." Otherwise, select "Picture."
- 5). Select a destination on your hard drive where you wish to save the document.
- 6). Click the "Scan" button. If a new dialog box pops up prompting you to select what you are scanning, click the "Original from Glass" option, then click "Scan" again.
- 7). Click "Accept" when the preview image appears on your computer screen to complete the process.
