- 1). Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom right-hand side of the screen in the task bar. A "Safely Remove Hardware" window will open.
- 2). Click the icon associated with the USB drive you want to remove and click the "Stop" button.
- 3). Click "OK" when the confirmation screen appears.
- 4). Wait for the "Safe to Remove Hardware" pop up to appear in your taskbar. Then pull outward on the USB drive to remove it from the computer.
