- 1). Insert the Syn0717a Bluetooth dongle into a USB slot on your computer.
- 2). Download and install the drivers for the Bluetooth dongle from the link in Resource 1.
- 3). Place your Bluetooth headset in "pairing" or "discovery" mode. Most headsets are placed in pairing mode by holding the main button on the headset body for 10 seconds. Check the headset's manual for instructions specific to that model.
- 4). Open "Devices and Printers" in the "Start" menu and click the "Add a device" button. Windows then lists all the nearby devices that are available to connect to; your headset should be listed.
- 5). Select your headset, click "Next," and input the headset's security passkey when prompted. Most headsets use "0000" by default; check the headset's manual if this key doesn't work for you.
- 6). Open "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu, click "Hardware and Sound," then "Manage audio devices" in the "Sound" section.
- 7). Select your Bluetooth headset from the devices listed in the "Recording" tab and press the "Set Default" button. Your Bluetooth headset should now be set up as a microphone on your computer.
