- 1). Remove the Phillips screws from the armrest and the one in the cover behind the door handle. Insert a screwdriver behind the door panel and the door, and pry out the trim fasteners on the both sides and the bottom of the door. Lift the door panel up and pull back to remove the panel, but do not move it too far from the door until you disconnect the electrical connectors and door handle.
- 2). Reach behind the door and push the snap retainer off the door latch rod attached to the door handle. Pull the rod out of the handle. Unplug the window switch and the lower marker light.
- 3). Peel the moisture shield back to expose the window regulator mechanism. Unplug the electrical connector from the motor.
- 4). Tape the window in the up position to keep it from falling when the regulator is removed. Look at the regulator, you will see two vertical posts, one on each side of the door with cables crisscrossing between them. The motor is attached to the front section of the door. Remove the nuts from the window support brackets using a socket. There is one bracket on each post holding the window.
- 5). Remove the nut on top and bottom of each window post. Remove the three bolts in the window motor to release it from the door. Fold the rear post down and start to pull it from the door through the access opening. Fold the front post down and pull it through as well.
- 6). Fold the front post down enough to slide it into the door cavity followed by the rear post. Stand the posts up once inside the door. Align the posts' studs with the holes in the door. Slide the studs in and install the nuts and tighten. Hold the window motor up to the inside of the door and align the holes and install the bolts.
- 7). Remove the tape from the window and slowly lower it into the window support brackets and tighten the nuts. Align the window motor bolt holes with those in the door. Install the bolts and tighten them firmly. Plug in the electrical connector to the motor.
- 8). Place the moisture shield back in place. Hold the door panel close enough to the door to plug in all the electrical connectors. Install the door latch rod into the hole in the door handle, and push the retaining clip down to hold the rod in place. Align the trim fasteners with the holes in the door and push the fasteners into the door. Install and tighten all the screws removed previously.
