- 1). Insert your Windows XP CD into a DVD or a CD-ROM drive.
- 2). Restart the computer. The BIOS, or Basic Input/Output System, detects the Windows XP CD and prompts you to press any key to boot from it. Your computer then starts loading the Windows XP Setup wizard.
- 3). Press "R" during the Windows XP Setup screen to start repairing Windows XP.
