- 1). Scrape accumulated debris or dried-on food from the surface of the Boos butcher block with a plastic scraper. Scrape the butcher block following the grain of the wood.
- 2). Wipe any food or debris loosened by the scraper into a trashcan using a clean, dry rag.
- 3). Place a few drops of mild dish detergent into a container. Add warm water to the container and mix to form a soapy solution.
- 4). Dip a clean rag into the soapy solution and wipe down the top of the Boos butcher block thoroughly. Rinse the rag in the soapy solution, wring out thoroughly and wipe the top down again.
- 5). Rinse the rag under warm running water to remove soap and debris. Wring out excess water and wipe down the Boos butcher block once more. Dry the butcher block with a clean rag.
- 6). Pour a small amount of natural mineral oil onto a clean rag. Begin at one edge of the Boos butcher block and wipe the mineral oil evenly across the surface of the wood.
