- 1). Connect one end of the RJ45 cable into one of the yellow ports on the back of the MI424WR router. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on your computer.
- 2). Open the Internet browser on your computer. In the address bar type in "http://192.168.1.1" and press "Enter."
- 3). Type in your user name and password and click "OK." You now have access to your router. If you don't know your user name and password, follow the steps in the section "Resetting the User Name and Password."
- 1). Find the small reset button next to the Ethernet ports on the back of the MI424WR router. Use the end of a paper clip to push the reset button and hold it for 10 seconds.
- 2). Wait 15 seconds for the router to reboot. Click the "Refresh" button on your browser, or enter "http://192.168.1.1" in the address bar and press "Enter."
- 3). Type "admin" into the user name box and "password" in the password box. Press "Enter."
- 4). Enter a new user name and a password at least six characters long, which you will enter twice. Click "OK" and log in using your new user name and password.
