- 1). Dust the silk-screened wood once a week with a quality dusting spray and cloth.
- 2). Wash the wood if stains or food get on the wood with warm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth. For tough stains, use a color-safe bleach on the wood mixed at a capful color-safe bleach to 1 gallon of water. Scrub gently with a soft cloth or sponge.
- 3). Avoid using any acetone or oil-based cleaner on the wood.
- 4). Reglaze or refinish the wood one to two times a year for added protection to the silk screen.
- 5). Do not allow unnecessary abuse to come to your silk-screened wood. Avoid all slamming down on the piece of wood or messy foods to be eaten on or around the wood. If it is a kitchen table, put down a thick or padded tablecloth before eating. Remove and wash the tablecloth after meals. If you have children, a plastic tablecloth is ideal because you can simply wipe the table cloth down with a sponge or dish rag, fold and store.
- 6). Do not set drinks down on the bare wood or the silk-screened part. This can cause moisture rings, which must be sanded away.
