- 1). Sand down a loose piece of linoleum that matches the color of the floor being repaired. Use a coarse grit sandpaper and rub firmly to loosen the fibers, or use a belt sander to get material for a large repair. Remove enough linoleum dust from the loose linoleum to fill the hole.
- 2). Mix up the linoleum dust with a small amount of wood glue using a craft stick. Add glue slowly until the color is completely distributed and the patch is liquid, but not runny.
- 3). Spread the patch into the hole using the craft stick to apply and shape the edges. As the glue dries, use the craft stick to scrape the top and sides of the repair to create a smooth, even surface. Let the glue dry for at least 24 hours.
- 4). Apply a coat of acrylic linoleum sealer with a paint roller. Apply the sealer in overlapping rows over the entire floor. The linoleum should appear wet where the sealer has been applied. Pay special attention to the repair, to ensure the patch blends in with the surrounding floor. Let the sealer dry overnight.
