- 1). Shut down your Extensa 4220 and disconnect the AC adapter and external devices.
- 2). Turn the computer over and remove the battery by pushing the switch next to it in the corresponding direction.
- 3). Locate the memory compartment panel next to the battery port in the middle of the computer.
- 4). Remove the screws holding the memory compartment panel in place and remove the panel to reveal the RAM slot beneath.
- 5). Locate the clips on each end of the RAM slot and pull them back to release the RAM module.
- 6). Slide the RAM module out of the slot and set it to the side.
- 7). Slide the new module into the slot and press gently down until the clips lock down upon it. Replace the memory compartment panel and battery pack. Reconnect the AC adapter and external devices.
