- 1). Open the sliding door and inspect the lower track. Look for bends in the track that may be pinching the door as you open and close it. Bend the track straight where necessary with a pair of vise grips.
- 2). Clean the door tracks to remove debris and dirt. Remove the bulk of the dirt with a rag and finish cleaning the track with a vacuum.
- 3). Apply some 3-in-1 oil to a corner of a rag. Wipe the oil into the track. Do not pour the oil directly on the track, as puddling will attract dirt and grime.
- 4). Look for the adjustment screws on the lower ends of the sliding door panels. Turn the screws counterclockwise with a Phillips-head screwdriver to raise the door, or clockwise to lower the door.
