- 1). Find the stitch where you would like to start your half pinwheel and single crochet into it. Slip the crochet hook through the stitch, wrap the yarn and pull it through. Then make a single chain by wrapping the hook again with the yarn, and pulling it through the loop on the hook.
- 2). Move two stitches over and make five double crochets into the same hole. To double crochet, wrap the hook before you pass it through the stitch. Then slide the hook through the stitch, wrap the hook again, and pull it through the work again, giving you three loops on theour hook. Wrap your hook again, pull the new loop through two of the loops on your hook, leaving you with two loops. Wrap the hook a second time, and pull the yarn through the two loops left on your hook, leaving you with only one.
- 3). Skip over the next stitch, make a double crochet into the stitch after that to attach the other side of the half pinwheel to the project.
- 4). Make the next half pinwheel by moving directly to the five double crochets from this point. Continue across until you are done with the half pinwheel element of the design.
