- 1). Click "Start" and select "Run."
- 2). Type in "regedit" and press "OK" or "Enter." The Registry Editor screen will pop up.
- 3). Click the "+" next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the left pane, then click the "+" next to SOFTWARE.
- 4). Click the "+" next to Microsoft, then click the "+" next to Windows NT.
- 5). Click "CurrentVersion" and you will see a "RegisteredOwner" and "RegisteredOrganization" field.
- 6). Right-click on the field you want to change, then left-click on "Modify..."
- 7). Type the new owner's name in the "Value Data:" field and press the "OK" button to confirm.
