- 1). Clean each glass panel thoroughly, then dry it completely.
- 2). Lay the panels out in the formation in which they should be assembled.
- 3). Line the frame of each glass panel with a thin layer of copper-backed wire.
- 4). Apply flux to the wire with the applicator brush or paintbrush, slowly and evenly. Before you work with flux, protect yourself with work gloves and a cotton mask, because flux is a corrosive, deoxidizing chemical.
- 5). Heat the soldering iron.
- 6). Drop small dots of melted solder onto the copper wire, starting in the corners to secure the glass panels in place.
- 7). Continue soldering slowly along the rest of the wire.
- 8). Examine the design for any gaps, and burnish with a thin layer of solder to smooth them over.
- 9). Reinforce the outer edges of the panels with a further layer of solder.
- 10
Clean the glass with flux remover.
