InstaMapper is a free online service that allows you to track a cell phone activity through the Internet. But keep in mind this technology can also be used to track a mobile phone location which are GPS enabled. This service does true real-time tracking, you are displayed a map that is showing a moving dot referring to that object and position on the map is updated after each 5 seconds.
InstaMapper comes with a lot a storage capacity embedded in it. It can store the data of 30 days. In simple words it means that every machine of InstaMapper can store 100000 locations. This stored data can then be exported easily into any CSV or KML file. If you are a programmer then you can easily access this stored data through application programmable interface (API) provided by the InstaMapper and import it into Google Earth. This service is accessed through an account which means it is password protected. But the important thing to note is that it only works with the permission of the person whom you want to locate.
The person will receive a message in which he will be asked to share its location with several other options. If he or she agrees, then you can access or locate his or her position. In technical term it is called location sharing. The data stored can be easily organized into many tracks and formats which are then used to share and embed in many maps also. You can also share that embedded maps with your social network profile like Facebook easily.
